Last Minute Gift Ideas

Journal | December 11, 2018

There are three kinds of Christmas shoppers: one, those who are done their Christmas shopping in October (who ARE you people??); two, those who realize they’ve forgotten their beloved bus driver/teacher/postal worker, or have realized that the gifts they’ve purchased are unbalanced (yes, we all do this); and three, those people who thoughtfully browse through stores year-round, purchasing the perfect gifts as they see them.

We can help (well, you October shoppers don’t need our help; you’re good, but you’re welcome to join us for a great cup of coffee and a cinnamon bun anyway!). As for the rest of you, we’ve got you covered with this list of gifts and stocking stuffers that will help you knock that list of yours down to finished…all before December 24th.

1. Socks. Everybody wears socks, and we have a very clever selection of them for everyone from your boss to your grandpa.

5. Know a hip baby? She needs this teether! Made of food-grade silicone that’s easy for baby to grasp, comes in colours that are easy on the eyes, and features cool sayings to boot!

6. If you are fortunate enough to still have your grandparents around, you NEED to gift them these books! Here’s how they work: you gift them the book, they fill out the pages (each page has a question/prompt) and then they gift the completed book back to you. Believe us: the completed book will be the best gift you will ever receive; you will be able to read its pages for years and pass the books down to younger generations, keeping memories and stories alive.

7. You can never go wrong by gifting a candle. These richly-scented little ones make fantastic teacher gifts, gifts for the traveller, or a reward for yourself (for getting your holiday shopping done on time!)

8. We all know at least one hockey dad! This mug would be a great little gift to thank him for waking up at the crack of dawn to get the players to the rink on time. Pair with some delicious Pineridge Hollow coffee…he needs the caffeine.
