What are you doing to ring in the new year this year? We’re thinking lots of food, drinks and sparkle this New Years Eve! While sometimes you just want to stay in and have a quiet end to the year, most of the time we’re celebrating with friends, family and sending the year off with a bang, so to speak. It’s kind of funny how lots of the things that remind us of New Year’s Ever literally make popping & banging noises: fireworks, noisemakers, champagne bottles…
Do you ever wonder why we choose to “pop a bottle” in celebration? Champagne has been associated with luxury for a long time. Apparently, the first bottling of wine with carbonation and the signature cork dates back to the 1500’s and was adored by European royalty. These days a lot more of us get to enjoy the bubbly pleasures of champagne. Although, we may opt for some of champagne’s bubbly counterparts: cava, prosecco or sparkling wine. Here at Pineridge Hollow we’re not one to break this tradition, but we have put a little spin on December 31st’s signature drink.
