Suds vs Shrubs is completely sold out!

Prepare your palates. Tickets are now on sale for one our most popular dining event – and this year we’re introducing cocktails to the competition. 

Abiding Citizen Craft Beverage Company and Lake of the Woods Brewery are bringing their best flavours into the ring to duke it out over a delicious meal. We match both a beer and a cocktail to each course, and you pick each round’s winner. This is a drink connoisseur’s kind of night. Thursday, March 28th, we invite you to dine, drink and judge at our Suds vs. Shrubs food and drink pairing event. 

The owners of Abiding Citizen will be on site, crafting cocktails, sharing tips on how to build a well-balanced beverage, and be your guide through a special Thai-inspired 5-course menu designed by chef Colin. 

Chad and Teri-Lynn Friesen are the husband and wife duo and creators of Abiding Citizen – the result of a fun hobby turned passion. Their appreciation for well-balanced beverages and food shows in their dedication to their craft and we are thrilled to have them guide us and share their knowledge with you at this event!  

Bitters and simple syrups add complexity to cocktails and give each drink that special ‘je ne sais quoi’.  Inspired by Prohibition, refined by modern times, Abiding Citizen helps everyone build a better beverage.

First Course

Tempura fried poached egg with chili jam, cilantro, fried onions

Seafood Tom Yum – spicy red curry soup with prawns, mussels, clams

 
Third Course

Papaya Salad – shredded papaya, daikon, carrot, thai basil, mint, cilantro, nuoc cham (vinaigrette)

 
Fourth Course

Chinese style BBQ Oak Knoll Farm pork, Thai fried rice

 
Dessert Course 

Fried banana with coconut ice cream
